A draft scheme has been drawn up to unite our two parishes of St. Luke’s and St. George’s in Ramsgate. This will mean that both churches will be governed by one PCC and that any future vicar appointed will be appointed to look after both churches. Under the scheme both St. Luke’s and St. George’s will continue as parish churches of the new united parish.
SUMMARY OF MAIN PROVISIONS OF DRAFT SCHEME (NOT PART OF THE DRAFT SCHEME)
This draft Scheme provides for the union of the benefice of Ramsgate St George and the benefice of St Luke, Ramsgate and their constituent parishes in the diocese of Canterbury, for the appointment of the first incumbent of the new benefice and for his parsonage house to be that of the benefice of St Luke, Ramsgate and for the future patronage arrangements for the new benefice.
Anyone may make representations (formal comments) for or against the draft Scheme.
This consultation expires on Monday 28th September 2026.
